Benedict is a farmer. His title is lord of the land. He doesn’t identify himself with his job. He earns enough to make ends meet. He doesn’t have a lot so he has to think thoroughly about his expenses. He has been saving for a very long time to be able to travel to D’Oradius. He hopes he can gain new knowledge and in that way earn more money so he can take better care of his family. He wants to become a happier man. His biggest wish is to create a better life with more meaning. He really wants to feel like a man, he wants to feel needed. And in D’Oradius men are seen as Gods. Benedict has never travelled to another country before. He only has cash. When he travels to D’Oradius he will have to change his money into the currency of the country, which are gold bars and coins.
His hobbies are reading, painting and horseback riding. He likes to be outdoors. He loves nature and is very fond of all kinds of animals. When he wants to clear his head and wants a break from life, then he goes outside because he needs to be alone with nature and his paint, this way his view and goals become clear again.
Benedict has a poor mental health; he can’t pay for a therapist. In D’Oradius medical care is far better than in his own country , this is one of the reasons why he wants to travel there. For now he looks for therapy with his animals. He thinks he’s an animal whisperer. He hopes he can do something with his talent in D’Oradius. Benedict is a bit overweight. He doesn’t really have a healthy lifestyle. Everything he harvests, he has to sell. There is nothing left for him and his family and so they have to buy cheaper food which is obviously not very healthy.
Benedict is a person that believes in something more, something spiritual but he doesn’t really know what that is. He believes that he will find that something in D’Oradius because it is a very religious country. He doesn’t really have the time to follow politics because his days are filled with working on the land. He’s really angry with the government, because he has to pay taxes and insurance and he doesn’t get anything in return. The supermarket is not his friend either. It’s a threat for his business.
